Academics
At Doral International Academy of Math and Science, we educate our students through innovative curriculum and engaging coursework. We spark curiosity and our students ask questions. We collaborate on real issues and our students see the world from a new perspective.
Schools are about students and our students are at the center of every decision we make. From our Kindergarteners to our Middle School 8th graders, we design learning that engages creativity, motivates critical thinking, and inspires collaboration. In turn, our students stretch and grow beyond their wildest imaginations preparing them for future of endless possibilities.
Curriculum & Coursework
Our developmentally responsive curriculum provides dynamic learning activities that allow students to grow in confidence.
A balance of content mastery and skill development ensures that students are ready for their next exciting learning opportunity.
The elementary and middle school curriculum are based upon the state curriculum frameworks and course description by the Florida State Department of Education.
Makerspace
At Doral International Academy of Math & Science we are fortunate to have "Makerspace," a constructivist and constructionist movement that is taking the world by storm where DIY meets education! The maker movement is about teaching and learning that is focused on student centered inquiry. This is not the project done at the end of a unit of learning, but the actual vehicle and purpose of the learning.
A Makerspace presents readily available materials that can act as a provocation for inquiry, as well as modern technology and items to invent with.
The Cambridge Program is an advanced academic program sponsored by the University of Cambridge in England. It is an internationally recognized program for students in grades K-12 that offers a rigorous and relevant curriculum. The program provides students with the opportunity to be challenged beyond the Florida Standards in a delivery system focused on a mix of traditional academic and project-based learning units. Students are exposed to a rich, comprehensive academic perspective focused on real-world, personal applications.
Project-Based Learning
Project-Based Learning (PBL) at Doral International Academy of Math & Science is an instructional methodology that encourages students to learn and apply knowledge and skills through an engaging experience.
PBL presents opportunities for deeper learning in-context and for the development of important skills tied to college and career readiness.
Project-based learning activities are interdisciplinary, rigorous, and student-centered. Research on PBL supports an increase in student engagement and achievement, and helps students develop the 21st-century skills they need to succeed in their future careers.
