About DIAMS

Ms. Ramos-Gomez is an enthusiastic classroom educator who taught students from fourth through eighth grade. Her love for teaching is something that she admits began at a very young age. As a child, she remembers how much she enjoyed helping her peers with their school work, and it is because of her helpful nature that she decided to delve into the world of teaching.

Ms. Ramos-Gomez has been honored for her excellent work in each phase of her educational career. As a compassionate teacher, she focused on building trusting relationships with her students and empowering them to become lifelong learners. Thanks to her creative and effective teaching strategies, she was the “Teacher of the Year” award recipient at Somerset Academy South Homestead and in 2014, she became principal of Summerville Advantage Academy. As Summerville’s school principal, she proved to be an excellent team builder who was highly respected throughout her school community for her ability to inspire students to do their best.  This is something she aims to continue to do for her Explorer family.

Additionally, Ms. Ramos-Gomez is someone who strongly believes in a powerful sense of community, which is why she loves connecting with others and giving back. In addition to being an educator, she used to provide care and comfort to children in Miami Children’s Hospital as a Radio Lollipop volunteer for several years, and throughout her time at Florida International University, she completed numerous community service projects that earned her the honor of receiving FIU’s “Medallion of Distinction for Excellence in Civic Engagement.”  Presently, she holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature from Florida International University and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Barry University. She also hopes to complete her pursuit of a doctoral degree in Organizational Learning and Leadership from Barry University as well.
